Tightening the Facebook Mini-feed
Written on November 1, 2007
Facebook recently announced measures to tighten user control over the mini-feed. Basically, users will be able to tag false mini-feed stories, remove them, and even delete applications straight from the feed.
Many reports have focused on the fact that this will curb “black-hat” applications which create false stories about users. There’s a more important lesson, however, in the tightening of the mini-feed. It means that in order to get in the mini-feed, and maintain users, Facebook applications will have to perform a function worth saving.
Hopefully, that will help change the face of Facebook platform.
