we like to stay busy…
If you have great art on your profile, or a new music video saved to your own gallery, you’ve probably used show)round already. The show)round suite of applications is a small-scale phenomenon on Facebook Platform. The enormously popular group of apps includes Art, Bands, Movies, Photography, Sports, TV and Vintage.
The starting point for show)round is simple: help people show the media they love, on their profiles. But the reason show)round has grown faster and larger than any competitor is a whole lot bigger. Show)round creates communities specifically related to user interests and the media they’re exploring. If users want to walk through a virtual museum, they can explore Art Show. If a few minutes in front of TV sounds better, they can check out clips from their favorite shows. Show)round users have left thousands of notes, engaged with media in countless ways, and used a host of new tools to share what they love with their friends. That’s what “showround” means- showing what you love, socially.
But we don’t rest on our laurels at Lonely CEO Media. We’re constantly developing new applications to test what audiences are interested in doing online. Friends & Characters expands on that mission, using a sleek and simple interface to match users’ best friends with their favorite characters. Earning praise from the blogosphere for innovative, original use of Facebook platform, our test apps expand what Facebook can mean to users.
We’ve also jumped onto the Facebook Pages bandwagon, exploring new ways to promote and share products. Our credit card site Taking Credit uses social media to share financial information. Quirky humor destination Dumbemployed.com also uses Facebook and Twitter to share the jobs we love to hate.
We’re constantly exploring ways to help people engage with their friends, new communities, and the information they care about- and that can be anything from a Scarface poster to a Monet. Whether it pops up as a new application or a new feature depends on what our users want- it’s a decision we all make together. And at the rapid pace of Facebook Platform Applications, that’s a decision that happens pretty often.
