A New Argument for Corporate Facebooking
Written on December 2, 2007
Occasionally, you’ll read a piece about the corporate approach to Facebook. The author will present reasons Facebook might take over corporate intranets, or become the next Linked In.
However, there’s a new compelling argument for social networks as corporate networks.
Social sites kill productivity (this is the first article I could find out of many). Rather than lose hours to social networking, employers should embrace it and tap into the addiction. Adding work to social networking may not increase productivity- but it will help recover from the lost hours. It’s always futile to try to contain internet use. By embracing Facebook (and other similar sites), employers can make the best out of their social situation.
And you can bet that employees will post less embarrassing pictures too.
