Widget makers make widgets. They don’t understand applications.

Facebook Platform gives developers an opportunity to create rich, immersive programs. Widget makers- like WidgetMinded and, to some extent, Slide and RockYou, were trained on a business model of exploitation, not cooperation. That mentality- pageviews and profile intrusion, at any cost- doesn’t apply to Platform.

That’s the reason Facebook only developers have an advantage. We know how Facebook Platform works, and aren’t blinded to the things that make it great.
