Today, Om Malik writes about AppFuel, another Facebook Ad Network that is “joining the party.” Appfuel has actually been around for a while, so it might be more apt to say their PR is “joining the party” and throwing their hat into the ring.
From what we’ve seen, AppFuel is a standard CPA (cost per action) [...]

Last night, Facebook launched more sophisticated tracking for applications. Now, developers can see how many people added and removed their apps, and what http requests failed or succeeded.
Of course, just like the change in user metrics from total user numbers to “engagement”, there’s a clear reason Facebook is beefing up its reporting. Eventually, the sophisticated [...]

The chief measuring stick for Facebook Platform applications is supposed to be the number of “active users.” While an “active user” is vaguely defined, it roughly means the number of users who touch the canvas page, play a flash file, or otherwise interact with an application in a day. One piece of news has been vibrating through tech blogs the past couple of days- Google, apparently, is basing future API plans on the competitive threat that Facebook poses. Michael Arrington says that Google will “out-open” Facebook and, in doing so, maintain its market position while increasing its stake in the social media sphere. Who [...]

“How did she have time to add all those applications on her Facebook profile? She had some friend thing, and music. I don’t get it”- man to woman, coffee shop.
“I don’t get any of the applications- I’m being poked, food- I hardly understand it”- woman, lunching.
“Food Fight and all those are annoying”- man, e-mail.
“There’s applications [...]

The London Times expends no less than 2389 words about committing Facebook “suicide” by deleting your account.
The only problem with the conceit? You can’t commit Facebook suicide- the site saves your connections even if you deactivate your account. So, unlike in real life, Facebook suicide has a guarantee of resurrection (if you want it).
It’s how [...]
